Color Profiles are used to preflight incoming ad submissions based on a variety of settings or flags set by the publisher. In order for a publication to accept ads, it must have a Color Profile associated with it. This is required in the Publication Preparation Checklist as well. Publishers can create and use more than one Color Profile at a time (ex. CMYK, B&W). Color Profiles can be set on a per publication basis. There are 3 actions publisher can choose for these settings:
- Warn: If an option is set to warn, SendMyAd will warn the user that their file has possible issues, and the user must approve the ad. Users are not required to upload a new file.
- Reject: If an option is set to reject, any ads that fail these parameters will automatically be rejected. This requires the advertiser to upload a new file after correcting the preflight error(s).
- Ignore: Will ignore any parameters set to this state.
Color Profiles can be controlled and customized through the dropdown settings on the righthand side. Each dropdown has a list of settings which highlighted below:
General Color Profile Settings
- Name of Profile

Channel Space Flags
- If a CMYK channel is found
- If an RGB channel is found
- If a Gray channel is found
- If a DeviceN channel is found
- If an ICC based channel is found
- If a separation channel is found
- If a sport color channel is found
Vector Object Flags
- If white overprint is found on a vector object
- If black overprint is found on a vector object
- If colored overprint is found on a vector object
- If Black RGB is found on a vector object
- If Gray RGB is found on a vector object
- If White Knockout is found on a vector object
- If Black Knockout is found on a vector object
- If Color Knockout is found on a vector object
Image Color Flags
- If an image in the document is found to have CMYK color space
- If an image in the document is found to have RGB color space
- If an image in the document is found to have Device Gray color space
- If an image in the document is found to have DeviceN color space
- If an image in the document is found to have CIE (LAB) color space
- If an image in the document is found to have ICC profile
- If an image in the document is found to have color separation
- If an image in the document is found to have spot color separation
Text Color Flags
- If a White Overprint is found on text in the document ignore it
- If a Black Overprint is found on text in the document ignore it
- If a Color Overprint is found on text in the document ignore it
- If a Black RGB color space is found on text in the document warn user
- If a Gray RGB color space is found on text in the document warn user
- If a White Knockout is found on text in the document warn user
- If a Black Knockout is found on text in the document reject file
- If a Color Knockout is found on text in the document
General Document Color Flags
- If the document is set to No Overprint Mode
- If the document’s overprint mode is set to 0
- If the document contains hue, saturation, color or luminosity layer blending modes
- If the document is found to have any separations
- If exact number of color channels is less than x or greater than x
Ink Coverage
- Minimum ink density per pixel is < x % and the total problem pixels per page are > x %
- Maximum ink density per pixel is < x % and the total problem pixels per page are > x %
- Max GCR/UCR density per pixel is > x % and the total problem pixels per page are > x %
Note: ‘x‘ is a variable; if set to 0 it will ignore. - If text is more than 99% black and other colors combined are greater or equal to 300%
